6th Dec Camping

Hi all,

I'm thinking the lists of things we need to plan for the camp:

* Place: pasir ris park
* time: 5pm
* BBQ ? how to book? Sat dinner
* who has tent? ( we hav one)
* games ( in charge?)
* prayer?
* mini church: song lead, lessons, communion bread
* Morning breakfast?

These are things I can think of. Any other suggestion?
And each of us shall we responsible of one thing?

We are looking forward to this first camp of the Zone!

Thank God that Ian & Isaac are clear of HFMD this week and already back in school! We had great time singing songs, reading books and playing toys together at home. We even went for bus rides as they really love buses.. Thank God for our children!

Awesome

First of all, I'll like to thank SK for the invitation to contribute and to be part of this blog.

Indeed I truly think we are laying grounds for an awesome start to the new year of 2009. This is a great way for us to stay in touch even when we are miles apart, to share our most immediate thoughts even when we may be short of time.

In fact it has also become a motivator - 1. it motivates me to finally start the blog that I have been procrastinating on; 2. it also motivates the fellow brothers to want something similar too!

So don't forget to visit us at http://seekthykingdom.blogspot.com/.... in fact come on over now! :)

Let us all grow in our relationship with each other, let us all grow in our faith, and let us all have some fun at the same time!

Nothing is impossible with God!

Further to my blog on my new mission statement for 2009, I have gone round to a small part of my estate to stick da4 zi4 bao4 - inviting people for bible discussion. And praise be to God, I got my first call today!!!

Auntie Mary is a housewife and takes care of her 2 granddaughters, aged 5 and 10 mths, full-time, 24x7. Her whole family was converted to Catholicism when she was 9 and I would say she has been eagerly seeking God since.

Unfortunately Auntie Mary married a Buddhist who is the eldest son in the family, so she was even deprived of a church wedding. From the way she spoke about it regretfully, she never felt whole.

Pauline and I visited her and spend a great time fellowshipping with her, understanding her and her spiritual needs and expectations as well as explaining to her the setup of our church. We could see for sure her heart was eagerly seeking God, she has been to somany churches over the years that we could hardly count it. This Sunday she will come to church with her 2 granddaughters and let's do our best to make her feel at home. We don't need to be the Golden Girls to approac her and befriend her!

My QT

Dear sis,
I would like to share my QT. I am excited to share it in the blog. Although we don't see each other v often, we can communicate by using internet. We share our insight in the blog. It is so great and wonderful.
Philippians 4:4

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."I like this passage cos everytime when I read it, I feel peace in my heart.God says do not worry about anything but in everything we pray and give thx to him. He will take control of our worries. Even thought we r in difficult sitaution, with GOD everything is possible. God will provide a way out to us.

Grateful

Hi sisters,

I just read this part from Karen QT, sharing about the what the church is going to plan for our parent ministry and same time thinking to help our kids.

I'm so grateful to God that the church is thinking how can raise up the kids in Christlike way and able to influence them when they are so young.

This is Karen's sharing :

I have also set up our youth ministry to have a Scout Programme, boys and girls separate, for the 3rd and 4th graders to get them interested in spiritual things and to get them comfortable with small groups from a young age. We work on character issues and scripture memory, and are using the Veggie Tales movies as a kind of curriculum. At the same time, the pre teens are having their meetings, and the young teens are in a different room, with the teens having their own class…While all this is going on, the parents are having their midweek lessons, with discipling groups afterwards. It is our hope that as the parents get strengthened, they will be able to talk to their children more about spiritual things, and then more and more youth will be baptized. At this time, our youth ministry is growing by leaps and bounds! Praise God!
In the same way, we also encourage every member to be involved in a HOPE volunteer program in their neighbourhood. Each region of the church has a “pet project” that they have come up with themselves, and they must fund it and run it on a monthly basis without the help of any full-time church staff. Some of our programmes include helping out at the mental health hospital with the long term patients (playing games with them, exercising, karaoke), befriending the boys from the Boys’ Home, caring for the physically handicapped at a special home, along with several others.

I'm so grateful to God that my kids can get to benefit this programs!! I'm sure they will learned alot of spiritual stuffs and also build great friendship here!!

Luv,

Veron Kuwe :)

Edna ~ a delight

Dear sisters,
my prayer is that we can use this blog to draw closer to one another... so... we really need not be sharing biblical insights and spiritual stuff throughout. Today I want to share about someone sweet from my family. See the photo.

Edna, or "a delight" in Hebrew, is truly a delight to the family. Although she is num 3, often forgotten, always bullied by her other siblings, overshadowed by Joshua, this little girl has a kind heart and such passion in learning. No coaching needed she attempts to play the piano on own accord. Just yesterday her cousin did not want to play with her but she still gave a gift to her cousin. So sweet....
Truly God is gracious... (though I did not feel that way when I was expecting her)

Missions for 2009

Great to see that the blog is up, one mission accomplished!

I'm looking forward eagerly and praying hard too, for I set quite a high goal for myself. Evangelism is my target for 2009. I want to make use of my spare time not having tuition to hold Bible Study classes for the pagens and those seeking God, and I have gone round some block of flats near my estate to stick posters today. Please pray for me that there will be response, and when response do come, please do come and help me disseminate the knowledge.

Love,
Carol

Ruth and Man

Dear sisters,

   I have been following Karen's QT series in hotnews. I am very much behind time though.  Today I read about Ruth. I thought WOW: what a timely book when I begin to start this blog for the sisters.

  Like what Karen's insight said : Naomi thinks life is bitter without a man in her life, Ruth thought differently. How bitter life will be without God in her life.

    Gosh! Do I think this way of God? Yet He has been so gracious. The next entry we have should perhaps be a blessing list for the entire zone and let it adds up see how abundantly God has blest us.

In Christ,
Soon Keow
